Lean Back In A Ragga Style



Now it's safe to consider all Indian influence rinsed, it's Arabic music's turn for a ghetto makeover. Following Terror Squad's Lean Back – perhaps one of the only true hip-hop bangers of 2004 – dancehall butted in with last year's Middle East riddim. However, for the time being at least, Ward 21 production team Andre "Suku" Gray and Kunley McCarthy's fantastic Irob has stolen the last word. The instrumental version is a joy in itself and as its ersatz Moroccan flutes and strings whirl like dervishes through the framework of pounding, half-step beats, you could be forgiven for thinking you're listening to one of DJ/rupture's Nettle releases.
